Fits: 6L80, 6L90 · 2008-up
The job: Transmission out. On these units the pump is built into the bell housing.
Everything to reseal the 6L80 and 6L90 front pump and turbine shaft in one box, so you are not hunting for one ring halfway through the job. It covers the seals and bushings a pump-out reseal or a budget rebuild replaces every time: converter seal, stator sealing rings, slide seals, stator gasket and O-ring, the pump and stator bushings and the turbine shaft rings.

Every part is also sold on its own under the number shown, so a lost or damaged piece is easy to replace.
How the job goes
- Remove the transmission and the torque converter.
- Unbolt the bell housing (it carries the pump) from the case. Replace the bell housing to case O-ring on reassembly.
- Take the stator off the bell housing. Replace the stator gasket and O-ring, and the three stator sealing rings with their expanders.
- Service the pump slide: new slide O-ring, Teflon bar and solid Teflon ring. Check the slide and rotor for scoring while it is apart.
- Replace the pump body and stator bushings, then drive in the new converter seal after the pump body bushing is in place.
- Replace the three turbine shaft rings and the lock-up O-ring, size the rings before you slide the shaft home, and reassemble.
You will also need
A bushing driver and seal installer, assembly lube, and a new filter and pan gasket if the pan comes off.
Before you buy
Shudder on its own is more often the torque converter, the fluid or a cooler restriction than the pump. Check those first. This kit fits 2008 and later units; 2006-2007 stators use different sealing rings.
Kit price saves at least $19.25 over buying the same parts one by one.
