How it works
The hardest step is removing the threaded aluminum pinion retainer, which also houses the pinion seal. It is torqued to approximately 150 lbs ft and sits deep in the case. The T-7500AC's spanner socket takes a 1/2'' drive and makes this near effortless.
Once the retainer is out, the included adapter fits slide hammers with 3/4-16 thread pitch and threads onto the pinion shaft. A few taps pull the race out of the case, freeing the shaft so the bearing and race can be serviced or the shaft replaced. T7500 AC makes a more complete rebuild possible.
