Product Description
Fits: U150 / U151 / U250 · 2001-on
TransGo SHIFT KIT valve body repair kit for 2001 and newer Toyota and Lexus vehicles with U150, U151 and U250 series transmissions. It targets shuttle shifts, bind-up or flare on the 2-3 shift, slips with throttle in 3rd and/or 4th, TCC slip codes and solenoid performance codes.

Why they fail and how it works
A worn TCC boost valve and bushing stops the computer from controlling the lock-up apply rate. A worn solenoid modulator valve bore is the second problem. The modulator valve limits the pressure going to the solenoids, like an AFL valve or solenoid pressure regulator valve on other units, and its spring keeps solenoid feed below a set PSI whatever the main line pressure. If that feed is too high or too low, solenoid output follows, causing shift quality complaints and codes along with low or high line pressure. The OE aluminum clutch apply control valve also tends to stick in its bore, causing 2-3 shift complaints.
The drop-in USA-made hardened steel TCC boost valve and bushing restore the hydraulic circuit. A redesigned drop-in solenoid modulator valve, spring and bushing restores modulator function in the existing worn bore with no tooling, and a drop-in hardened steel clutch apply control valve will not stick like the OE aluminum valve.
Tech tips: the life of the transmission depends on the boost valve and sleeve for proper line rise; the replacement is U151-BOOST. For worn accumulator pistons or bores, AW-ACCUM is a hardened steel accumulator piston with scarf-cut sealing rings that seal even in worn valve body bores.
What's included
- USA-made hardened steel TCC boost valve and bushing
- USA-made hardened steel clutch apply control valve
- USA-made hardened steel solenoid modulator valve, spring and bushing
- 0.055 in drill bit
Notes
When the TCC boost valve and bushing wear out, the computer can no longer control the apply rate of the lock-up as it is supposed to.
Similarly, a new redesigned drop-in solenoid modulator valve system does not require any tooling.
