Reid Racing 1-piece Powerglide transmission case. The case is SFI 4.1 certified and the integral bellhousing is SFI 30.1 certified, so no external shield or flexplate shield is needed. It uses all stock and aftermarket internals.

About this case
The bellhousing is part of the case, as on the Powerglide, which keeps machining alignment true. The case is permanent-mold cast from heat treated aircraft grade aluminum, a process Reid describes as stronger, more ductile and more accurate than sand casting.
Oil pan flanges are thickened to stiffen the case, and the oil pump area is reinforced to prevent front case distortion under high horsepower and reduce the flexing that causes gear misalignment and breakage. Oil pump mounting bolt holes are Heli-Coiled to prevent thread failures. No external shields or bottom straps are needed.
The patented adjustable transbrake release uses an adjustment bolt to vary the quickness and rate of release, which changes reaction time and the hit on the tires. The case is pre-drilled for a double dump transbrake, redesigned oil passages improve transbrake release time and allow instant application, and a patented reverse piston bleed hole vents air from the piston area for transbrake consistency. Each case is inspected at every step of production.
