TransGo Shift Kit valve body repair kit for 2015-2019 Ford vehicles with the GEN2 6R80 and 2017-on 6R100. It targets TCC shudder, rough coast downshifts, gear ratio errors and solenoid performance codes. For GEN1 2006-2014 units, the TransGo kit is SK 6R80-A.
How it works
These complaints come from wear in the pressure regulator (PR) valve bore and the PR valve balance bushing, and from a torque converter clutch regulator valve design and calibration that needed an upgrade to stop TCC shudder.
The kit replaces them with a hardened steel drop-in two-piece PR valve and a redesigned TCC regulator valve, with no reaming or tooling. Both valves have longer lands that ride in previously unused, unworn areas of the bore, restoring hydraulic integrity and spreading the load over more surface area for longer bore life. New rubber damper inserts and wire retainer clips replace flattened or broken originals.
It corrects 28-46 MPH TCC shudder from TCC regulator malfunction, erratic pressure from PR malfunction, soft or long shifts and coast downshift clunk, along with gear ratio codes P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734 and P0729 and shift error codes P0781, P0782, P0783, P0784 and P0829.
To reduce overheating, TransGo's 6R80-CLR-BYPASS cooler bypass valve increases cooler flow. On high-mileage valve bodies, a persistent coast-down clunk or slip-sliding shifts when hot point to wear in the solenoid regulator and lube regulator bores. TransGo offers a kit with two guides, a reamer for both bores and the valves (6R80-VBR-WT), and a refill kit with just the valves and springs (6R80-VBR-NT).
