How it works
The patent-pending super-sized direct drum bushing has a metering orifice that prevents unrestrained lube dump to the balance piston and provides back pressure. Combined with optimized axial lube channels, this creates a lube pump that delivers ATF to the stator sleeve so the bushing can hydroplane on the sleeve. A CT-101 dry film lubricant coating reduces friction and increases lubricity for improved break-in, longer life and durability.
The tight installed fit and close bushing-to-sleeve clearance virtually eliminate drum rock and prevent bushing spin-out. The oversized bronze-filled carbon graphite lap-joint direct drum sealing rings are 0.015 in wider and more flexible than the OE PEEK rings, and they conform better to groove irregularities.
The end play shim for the center support reduces clearance and gives axial support, reducing the rocking that elongates the forward drum bushing and the front-to-rear movement that unseats the direct drum sealing rings. The solid cup plug lets you clean prior debris out of the blind hole passage in the center support.
