- (5) 166708B193 (.076”) G3® Friction Plates #2
- (5) 166709K195 (.077”) Kolene® Steel Separator Plates #1
- (1) 166765B (.461”) Stepped Top / Bottom Pressure Plates #3
Installation:
Stack the Intermediate clutch pack as follows; install .461” stepped pressure plate
(3) into case, step side down, install .076” friction plates (2), install .077” Kolene® steel plates (1)
into case, You will be alternating friction and steel plates, 5 friction plates and 5 steel plates, ending
with a steel plate, install piston, return spring, and snap ring into center support, install center
support into case.
Apply regulated shop air to the clutch several times to seat the stack up, clearance should be .035”
to .070” (0.88 – 1.78 mm)
Check clutch pack clearance using a dial indicator and tool T89T-70010-F/T89T-70010-C-7700 or
equivalent.
Always pre-soak friction plates in the ATF that you are going to use in the completed unit for at least
30 minutes.
