How it works
High performance or transplanted vehicles used off-road or on the strip are sometimes fitted with a converter that has no lock-up clutch. Without changes at the oil pump and valve body, this can cause a loss of coupling (slippage) and excessive heat, because the converter does not stay fully charged under heavy load and high RPM.
This drop-in kit redirects converter flow to the primary pump area so the converter stays fully charged under high load and RPM. It needs no pump machining, cross-drilling or modification to the pump or support. A TCC enable solenoid is not needed, though it can be reinstalled. The kit is compatible with TransGo's 4L60E series products.
In vehicles that still use the OE computer for transmission management, the TCM can set a lock-up performance or slip code such as P0741.
