How it works
The meter is spliced into the return line from the radiator to the transmission case and removed after testing. It works with rubber or metal cooler return lines. The power cord plugs into the cigarette lighter socket, or can be modified to connect directly to the fuse box or battery.
It verifies cooler flow under real driving conditions and can also be used to check valve stroke and hydraulic response to commands. The meter has large display numbers and a low-flow warning light. The technical manual gives typical normal and poor cooler flow figures for most common transmission applications, and updated charts are available.
With the optional output signal adapter kit FM-03K, the meter connects to a lab scope for digital output that can be graphed and recorded.
