Valve body shift kit with separator plate for the GM Turbo 400 (TH400), with regular and heavy duty applications in the same kit. It works with 6 and 7 check ball cases and includes a new separator plate to replace the worn-out OE plate.
What it fixes
It corrects or prevents soft late shifts, soft 2-3 shifts, harsh reverse engagement, clutch chatter and bind-up in manual low when hot.
For the model years that used Teflon rings on the 2nd accumulator, which did not perform well, the kit supplies metal rings.
The kit also has a thicker heavy duty snap ring for the intermediate clutch. The stock ring blows past the lugs in the case and breaks them; with the Superior snap ring, cases with 2 to 3 broken lugs can still be used.
