Heavy-duty intermediate snap ring support for GM Turbo 400 (TH400) transmissions, made in the USA by Adapt-A-Case. It supports the intermediate snap ring between the 8:00 and 10:00 positions, where the case leaves it unsupported.
Why it fails
Under the higher pressures of today's high-performance TH400 builds, the 2nd gear apply slams against an intermediate pressure plate that is only partially supported, with about 80% coverage. The result can be a deformed pressure plate, lugs broken out of the case and loss of 2nd gear.
The support bolts into place from two directions, through the servo apply pin hole and the hole that originally retained the band anchor plug, so it holds firm.

Buy the good clutches, a fancy trans-brake valve body, the HD sprags, all the stuff you can think of to make sure this one won't break.
