Adapt-A-Case upgraded case saver for New Process 246, 261 and 263 model transfer cases, used in Chevy Silverado and Tahoe and GMC Sierra and Yukon. It is a simple drop-in protector for the pump pocket that fixes the leak the first time.
Why it fails
The magnesium case is soft and the aluminum pump is harder, so the pump wears the case and the leak comes back. Good used case halves are hard to find, and replacing the case alone does not solve the problem.
To install, clean the case and repair the damage with epoxy, or weld it. Place the BRNY case saver in the pump pocket and continue the rebuild.
Notes
The problem with merely replacing the case won't solve the problem.
