AFL valve repair kit for the GM 4T65E. The redesigned AFL valve and spring combination, with a simple cup plug, stops the leak and spreads the load across the entire length of the rear casting to stop wear. It installs quickly without extra tools, reamers or replacement valves and sleeves.

Why it fails

Wear at the small end of the balance side of the AFL valve bore in the channel plate casting lets AFL signal/balance oil leak, which lowers pressure. That commonly sets codes, most notably P1811 (max adapt or long shift completion) or various TCC slip/error codes, and it can cause 2nd gear starts.
