Adapt-A-Case dual clutch remover and installer tool for the Ford 4F27E in the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus. It removes the old clutch and installs a new dry clutch assembly. Made in the USA.
The dual clutch assembly weighs approximately 36 pounds. This clutch assembly fails from leaky front seals.
How to use it
Removal: Secure the transmission with the bell housing facing up (step #1). Remove the 2.5'' snap ring from the center of the clutch and set it aside, then remove the splined hub (step #2). Insert tool #1, hold it down and strike it evenly twice with a hammer to unload the snap ring; remove tool #1 and check whether the snap ring rotates in its groove, and if not, strike it once more. Once it rotates freely, remove and discard it (step #3).
Install tool #2 (big hole down), set tool #3 in place (gear shape down) and install the 2.5'' snap ring. Twist the knob to remove the clutch assembly (step #4). Remove the actuator motors and inspect the seals (step #5).
Installation: Attach tool #3 to the new clutch assembly with the 2.5'' snap ring, set the assembly on the input shaft and remove tool #3 (step #6). Place tool #1 (hole down) on the center of the clutch and strike it lightly several times until the snap ring groove is fully exposed, then install the new 1.5'' snap ring (step #7).
Install the hub with the paint marks aligned (step #8). Reach through both actuator holes with the Allen tool provided and turn the screw counterclockwise 14 times to set the new clutch (step #9).
