Why it is needed
Shops report that these transmissions often come in with many of the complaints below, yet the fluid is fairly clean with no burned odor, and teardown shows little wrong inside. Replacing internal parts without this kit or a new valve body does not fix them, and road tests show the same faults. With this kit installed carefully, the transmission performs as it should.
Corrects or reduces: rough shifts, bump-bump downshifts above 30 mph when hot, part-throttle downshift bang, flares on upshifts and kickdown, rough coast downshifts, no pressure rise, TCC slip or shudder and poor shift quality. Codes: P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734, P0735, P0736, P0741, P0780, P2757, P2758.
