TransGo 604-BSH replacement reducer bushing for 1989 to 2006 non-VLP Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Eagle, Ram, Jeep and Mitsubishi vehicles with the A604/41TE, A606/42LE or 42RLE automatic transmission (units without the variable line pressure solenoid and sensor).
It is a USA-made hardened steel, direct drop-in replacement for the OE aluminum bushing, which is prone to wearing out prematurely.

Why it fails
The reducer bushing in the valve body wears out and causes high line pressure. That can cause a rough or chattering 1-2 shift, a rough or binding 2-3 shift, a 4-3 coast downshift clunk, no lock-up or shuddering lock-up, and limp-in mode hot under heavy throttle.
