Adapt-A-Case Power Wedge intermediate band anchor for Chrysler A727, A518 and A618 (46RE/47RE) transmissions, and especially heavy-duty 48RE units. It replaces the brittle OE band anchor. Made in the USA by Adapt-A-Case.

Why the OE anchor fails

The OE band anchor is a compromise between function and cost, and its material is brittle. As the band wears, the anchor's angle changes slightly and load moves to an area not designed to take it, which often ends in failure.

Breakage can also follow higher line pressure from valve body modifications or computer reprogramming, and larger aftermarket servo pistons add to the load. Diesel applications put even more stress on the anchor, with a higher clamp load from the different apply lever geometry.
