TransGo OEM governor pressure solenoid repair kit (TF-GOV-SOL) for 42-48RE transmissions, 1995-on, with electronic governor pressure solenoid and transducer. It contains the tools and parts to take apart the original solenoids, restore the valve bore and fit a new spool valve, spring and cap, with enough parts to rebuild six solenoids.

Why it fails
1995 to 2007 Dodge, Ram and Jeep vehicles with the 40RE, 42RE, 44RE, 46RE, 47RE and 48RE often have contaminated governor pressure solenoids, causing wrong gear starts and governor solenoid and sensor performance codes.
The computer drives the PWM governor pressure solenoid to create governor pressure relative to road speed, emulating the hydraulic governor in older RH series units, and checks the result with the governor pressure sensor. When the solenoid sticks or is restricted, the reading no longer matches, and the computer sets a code and puts the unit in limp-in mode with a 3rd gear start and no shift.
Corrects, prevents or reduces: wrong gear start, no upshift, governor pressure solenoid and sensor performance codes, and limp-in mode.

Notes
Simultaneously, it monitors the feedback from the governor pressure sensor to confirm that the governor pressure is doing what it is commanded to do.
When the solenoid sticks or is restricted, the computer notices that the pressure reading from the sensor does not match the desired governor pressure and sets a code which puts the unit in limp-in mode resulting in 3rd gear start and no shift.
This kit will only work on OE solenoids with the proper resistance value of 2.5-5.0 ohms.
