TCS billet steel front drum with an extra large billet aluminum piston for TF727, A518, A618, 47RE and 48RE transmissions. The drum is CNC machined from 4140 HTSR billet steel with no cast iron, making it stronger and more reliable than the OEM cast iron drum. It suits street use.

About this kit
The drum holds up to 6 friction plates, versus 4 in the OEM unit. The piston has 55% more apply surface area, which doubles the clamping force in third gear, and dual oil apply passages give even piston apply.
In 727 high gear drum distortion and explosion testing, sprag failure can make the front drum spin at 2.2 times engine speed. TCS offers these drums to deal with that in high performance applications.
An optional TCS drum spring retainer with 15 springs (123900DSR) is available.
