How it works
The compensator feed regulator valve supplies regulated pressure to the balance side of the rotating clutch drums. This counteracts unintended clutch apply caused by the centrifugal force of residual oil in the apply chamber, so the forces cancel out and clutch apply is simpler for the computer to calculate.
Pressure that is too low or too high can dramatically affect shift quality. Very high pressure can keep the oncoming clutch from applying, resulting in a cut-loose.
The TransGo valve has an extended land that works even in worn bores and supports the valve to help prevent bore wear, and a self-cleaning design that prevents sticking in the bore.
