TransGo 5R55W-HD2 Reprogramming Kit™ for Ford, Lincoln and Mercury 5R55W, 5R55S and 5R55N transmissions, 1999-UP. It adds the performance needed in vehicles such as street rods and hot rods, and increases intermediate and OD band apply pressure to decrease shift times under heavy throttle.

What it fixes

It addresses won't move, pump noise, no lock-up hot, and lock-up slip and shudder. These lock-up problems are usually caused by the valve body, not the converter. It also corrects codes P1744 and P0734.

The kit contains a no noise pump flow control valve assembly, an upgraded steel TCC/lock-up valve assembly and a pump alignment tool. Two EPC relief assemblies protect the unit from excessive pressure, and two high temp, low shrink direct clutch rings last longer. Reamers with new oversize valves and guides are included to bore and replace the VFS1 and VFS2 mod valves.

Replacement springs located throughout the valve body address no or slow reverse and loss of or non-operation of various forward gear ranges.
