TransGo 4L80E-HTRK High Temperature Sealing Ring Kit for 1991 to 2013 General Motors vehicles with the 4L80E or 4L85E automatic transmission. It fixes complaints of no lock-up and no 4th, direct clutch slip, harsh shifts, forward clutch slip at idle hot, reverse delay or bind up when hot, and gear ratio and TCC slip codes.

Why it fails
These complaints usually occur when the fluid is hot. Even brand new OE style sealing rings stop sealing effectively after a few heat cycles, and the leak causes slippage. When the computer detects the slip, it sets a diagnostic trouble code and disables both lock-up and 4th. It then commands maximum line pressure, which causes harsh shifts and reduces, or in some cases completely cuts off, lube oil.
The TransGo high temperature sealing rings and expanders are designed to resist hardening and shrinking over time, which eliminates the hot leaks and the complaints that come with them. The two included shims reduce end play to keep shafts from rubbing and making metal, and help center the drum on the rings.
Corrects, prevents or reduces: TCC slip, no lock-up and no 4th gear, direct clutch slip, forward clutch slip at idle when hot, delayed or bound-up reverse engagement when hot, and codes 39, 68, 85, P0730, P0741, P0894 and P1870.

Notes
Even with brand new sealing rings, after a few heat cycles, the OE style sealing rings no longer seal effectively and they will leak causing the slippage.
