Sonnax 4th accumulator repair kit 34805-01K for GM 4L80-E and 4L85-E transmissions. It salvages accumulator housings with a worn or scored 4th accumulator bore, using a press-in sleeve and a pinless piston.

Why it fails
Repeated movement of the 4th accumulator pistons wears the piston/pin interface. Once that wear reaches a critical point, the piston can cock and gall the bore, and debris and piston contact score it further. A severely galled bore otherwise means replacing the accumulator body. Symptoms include a damaged accumulator bore, poor shift quality and loss of accumulator control.
The kit includes a press-in sleeve for installation, and the pinless accumulator piston uses a PTFE seal to support the piston in the bore.

Notes
