The rubber is designed for higher temperatures. It has a higher temperature range without degrading, keeps its physical and mechanical properties, and stays elastic and flexible instead of turning stiff and brittle. Low compression set keeps it sealing at elevated temperatures, and it retains its strength and integrity.
