Oversized torque converter clutch (TCC) regulator valve kit from TransGo for 1999 to 2018 Chrysler, Dodge, RAM and Jeep vehicles with the 45RFE, 545RFE, 65RFE, 66RFE or 68RFE. A USA-made steel oversized valve restores the hydraulic integrity of the circuit, and a new calibrated spring offsets the larger valve diameter.

Why it fails

The TCC regulator valve sets converter clutch apply pressure in both partial (EMCC) and full lock-up mode. The computer varies the pulse width modulation of the LR/CC solenoid to regulate that pressure, and the constant PWM oscillation wears the valve bore in the pump over time.

When the wear is worst at the spring end of the valve, balance oil meant to assist the spring leaks to the sump. TCC apply pressure becomes erratic or high, and lock-up apply can be harsh.

When the wear is worst at the opposite end, signal oil from the LR/CC solenoid leaks away. The converter pressure regulator valve gets little or no signal to raise apply pressure, so TCC apply pressure is low, lock-up slips, and lock-up performance codes can set.

Corrects, prevents or reduces code P0740, lock-up slip, no lock-up, and overheating.
