The BLCA stsyle light duty trans replaced the earlier 2-shaft BMXA (Civic) and 3-shaft BAXA (Accord) type units in later Civic and Accord, and is also used the new 4-cylinder models like the Fit, Element and CR-V. Although primarily designed as a 5-speed, it was also back-engineered to a 4-speed for some models. Both 4 and 5 speeds have 2WD and AWD versions.
CORRECTS OR PREVENTS THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS
- Lockup codes & premature clutch burnout
- Torque converter clutch slip/shudder at low RPM in 3rd gear below 36 MPH
- Long, delayed, or double bump reverse to drive engage when hot
- Light to mid throttle 1-2 shudder
- 1-2 slide bump
- Erratic, slip or bump shifts (Sticking CPC valves/leaking plugs)
- Converter/case bearing "walk"
