Vehicles equipped with Aisin Seiki AS68RC transmissions utilize two clutch control valve lineups to control the application of the various clutches and brakes required for smooth gear changes. In Dodge versions, a clutch control plunger valve and sleeve aid in control of the clutch control valve. This plunger valve and sleeve allows solenoid feed and clutch apply pressures to gradually apply the appropriate clutch or brake. The sleeve is prone to wear due to constant plunger valve oscillation, which can lead to a variety of shift complaints as the two clutch control valves stroke to apply and release the various clutches and brakes.
