Installation: Stack the Direct clutch pack as follows; install apply piston, install Kolene® steel plate, alternate installing friction and steel plates ending with a friction plate (6 Red Eagle® frictions / 6 Kolene steels). Re-install pressure plate and snap ring. Apply regulated shop air to the clutch several times to seat the stack up, clearance should be .045” to .065” (1.15 – 1.65 mm) Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance between the snap ring and the pressure plate in three different locations Use selective snap ring provided in this kit to get the correct clutch pack clearance. Always pre-soak friction plates in the ATF that you are going to use in the completed unit for at least 30 minutes.
