THERE ARE TWO REAMING PROCESSES. THE PLUNGER (INNER) VALVE BORE MOST BE REAMED FIRST AS THE BENCH REAMER JIG NEEDS TO INSTALL INTO THE OE RELAY VALVE BORE. IF THE OUTBOARD RELAY VALVE BORE IS REAMED FIRST THE GENCH TOOLING WILL NOT WORK

Toyota/Lexus U341E and U341F lockup relay valve trains route converter feed fluid to the release side of the converter clutch and apply fluid into the cooler circuit. Converter feed pressure at the lockup relay control plunger valve helps in positioning of the outboard lockup relay valve. Wear or sticking at either the relay or plunger valve bores can result in converter apply and release concerns, inadequate lubrication, overheated fluid and converter codes.
