Wear in the lubrication bore and on the major spool areas of the lubrication valve is common in Subaru TR580 continuous variable transmissions. This wear minimizes secondary pressure control resulting in overheating, lube failures and TCC apply and release concerns.
Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized lubrication valve kit 823740-03K eliminates the leakage of secondary pressure fluid to exhaust. The incorporation of annular grooves on the outboard and inboard major diameter spools of the valve ensures the valve functions and operates in the center of the bore. The O-ringed end plug provides a positive seal and prevents critical secondary pressure fluid from leaking.
