C2 clutches in Aisin AW TF-80SC and TF-81SC transmissions are applied in 4th, 5th and 6th Gears in conjunction with other clutch packs. As the C2 clutch control valve oscillates and strokes over time, bore deterioration results which prevents proper hydraulic control of the C2 clutch pack. This can cause flares, slipping, erratic clutch apply timing, ratio codes and burnt C2 clutches. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized C2 clutch control valve kit 39741-46K restores normal shift operation by re-establishing the hydraulic integrity of the C2 circuit.
