Ford AOD Transmission Shift Kit by TransGo
Fits Ford and Lincoln Mercury AOD 1979-1993
Notice: This product will not work with nor do we provide calibration assistance for Low Ratio Planetary Gear set from (4R70W) unit.
Includes (4) governor valves for max throttle shift tuning; new boost valve with springs for tuning high performance engine applications and our patented High Temperature rings for forward clutch. Includes pan gasket and both valve body/separator plate gaskets with various other items/procedures for shift feel and calibration.
Short, Firm Shifts with Performance, Durability and “CLASS”. Tunable wide open throttle shifts from 5500 - 6800 RPM. Be cautious when tuning max throttle shifts to avoid engine damage! This Kit does not provide a wide-open throttle up-shift to 4th. Trans will have full automatic operation in OD or D position.
NOTE: "For this kit to hold 1st, 2nd and 3rd to any RPM", For 1st gear place shifter in 1st position manually, upshift to the 2nd/D position for 2nd gear then immediately pull shifter back down to the 1st position " It will stay in 2nd gear", when ready for 3rd gear, shift to the 2nd/D position again it will now go to 3rd gear and when ready for 4th gear/overdrive move shifter to the 3rd/OD position.

AOD HP Kit
Worked great to for my donor Lincoln Town Car AOD in my Ranger 302 swap. Before installing the transgo kit the transmission would almost skip right through 2nd into 3rd. The motor was not staying in the torque curve unless you did the old 1D1 shuffle. Now in drive i can get on the loud pedal and it holds 2nd until about 5300 and then shifts into 3rd smoothly. Only catch was trying to figure out the size of the tiny drill bits included in the kit. I ended up having to mic them to tell which was .044 vs . 055. Still not much to complain about given the gains vs kit cost.
