The 1-2 accumulator bore on Ford AX4S, AXOD and AXODE channel castings can become scored which creates loss of clutch pressure or cross-leaks. The continuous oscillation of the piston within the bore causes excess wear. In addition, a broken accumulator spring can get caught between the piston and the bore causing a deep groove in the casting wall. You can resolve these problems by installing Sonnax 1-2 accumulator bore sleeve kit 96513K.
- Kits contain an aluminum sleeve and new steel accumulator piston with a Viton® O-ring
