The low/reverse clutches in Ford 6R140 transmissions are applied in Park, Neutral, Manual 1st and Reverse Gears. As the low/reverse regulator valve oscillates and strokes over time it results in bore deterioration, allowing pressure loss that prevents proper hydraulic control. This can cause delayed Reverse, burnt low/reverse clutch and/or low line pressure.
Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized low/reverse regulator valve kit 126740-27K restores normal operation and clutch control for revived operation. The incorporation of annular grooves on the valve spools center the valve in the bore and the O-ringed end plug provides a positive seal and prevents critical signal fluid from leaking to exhaust.

CAUSE
Bore wear at the low/reverse valve allows for critical pressure loss and results in continuous low line pressure.
