It is often necessary to resurface the pump during overhaul of GM 6L45, 6L50, 6L80 and 6L90 units. After resurfacing, endplay is too great and must be set back to an acceptable amount. However, there is no selective washer available from the OEM. Sonnax selective pump thrust washer 33452A is about .020" thicker than OE, enabling endplay to be brought back into specification after machining of the pump.

CAUSE
After resurfacing the pump, a thicker washer than OE is needed to set correct endplay.
CORRECTION
Restore acceptable endplay by installing thicker Sonnax selective pump thrust washer.
