Install per OE specification. Stepped side of gear faces up towards plate.
Time, mileage and high pressure contribute to wear of the OE pump gears in Chrysler 68RFE transmissions. Replacement gears are not available from Chrysler to allow worn pumps to be rebuilt.
Sonnax heavy duty outer pump gear set 72530B-04K includes two premium-quality, high-pressure gears with an anti-wear coating to ensure long life. Use in conjunction with center pump gear 72530B-02 to replace all three gears in the pump.
