In GM 5L40-E and 5L50-E transmissions, constant oscillation of the pressure regulator valve can cause excess bore wear, resulting in oil pressure loss and cross leaks. Severe wear leads to low pressure, which can cause gear ratio codes and a no 4-5 shift condition. Sonnax pressure regulator valve kit 55211-08K allows the pump bore to be refurbished to remove wear and hydraulic integrity to be restored. The highly wear resistant sleeve provides more contact surface with the valve for increased stability and durability, preventing future wear.
