The accumulator plate in Chrysler 45RFE, 545RFE, 65RFE, 66RFE and 68RFE units is weak and not held securely enough to withstand the impact of the accumulator pistons. The OE plate flexes, causing the screws to loosen and break.
Sonnax accumulator cover plate kit 44892-01K is an upgrade over the OE plate and allows salvage of valve bodies with damaged plates. The patented plate is made of thicker steel and has three additional screw holes to hold the plate more securely. Tightly-toleranced tap 44892-TL provides higher torque yield threads than common shop taps.

CORRECTION
The Sonnax replacement plate is made from stronger, thicker steel. Mounting is made more secure because the plate has three additional holes, to allow for the addition of three stronger mounting screws.
