It is difficult to set the proper differential bearing preload in listed Chrysler automatic transaxles. It is necessary to reset the preload when any of the following components are replaced: transaxle case, differential carrier, differential bearing retainer, extension housing and differential bearings. When setting the preload of the Chrysler transaxle differential bearings, rebuilders may exhaust the popular selective spacer sizes in current spacer kits. Sonnax shim 39540-Z5 provides more precise setting of transfer shaft gear endplay.
