In listed Chrysler transmissions, it is difficult to set the output shaft bearing preload and transfer shaft bearing endplay. Rebuilders often must go through many OEM selective spacer kits to get useful sizes. The preload and endplay must be readjusted when any of the following components are replaced: case, carrier, carrier bearings, extension housing or bearing cups. When setting the preload or endplay of the output shaft and transfer shaft bearings, rebuilders may exhaust popular spacer sizes in current spacer kits. Sonnax now offers a variety of spacer and shim kits to more accurately set the preload and endplay of the output and transfer shaft gears.
