K2 clutches in listed transmissions are applied in 4th, 5th and 6th Gears in conjunction with other clutch packs. As the K2 clutch control valve oscillates and strokes over time, bore deterioration results, which prevents proper hydraulic control of the K2 clutch pack. This can cause flares, slipping, erratic clutch apply timing, ratio codes and burnt K2 clutches. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized K2 clutch control valve kit 15741-57K returns normal shift operation by restoring the hydraulic integrity of the K2 circuit.
